My teaching career started with five years primary teaching in London. From there I travelled extensively, gaining wonderful insights into different cultures. I returned home to New Zealand and settled in Christchurch where I was full time teaching until I had my two children.
With a qualification in working with children with special needs, I worked in part-time ORS (special needs) positions. I returned to study in 2012 completing a post-graduate qualification in specialist teaching, with my endorsement area being deaf and hearing impaired. I worked for two years as a Resource Teacher of the Deaf.
In 2013 our family took a break from kiwi life to go on an adventure and live in Laos, South East Asia, for a year, where I taught part-time as an early years teacher at the International Baccalaureate School.
With my husband's and my own family being based in Queenstown, we felt it was time to return to the district and take advantage of all it has to offer. I am excited to be part of the team at Shotover Primary School and to be part of an innovative, empowering and learner-centered learning environment.
