Kia ora! My name is Kate Walker and I am very excited to be joining the Hays teaching team this year. I moved to Queenstown from Gisborne at the end of 2020 and already feel a great sense of belonging to this area.
I have over 15 years experience as a junior classroom teacher and reading recovery specialist. My aim as a teacher is to provide students with a stimulating and rewarding environment where they can grow socially, academically, and culturally.
I am looking forward to building meaningful learning relationships with the students, staff and the wider Shotover School community.
In my spare time I enjoy exploring the beautiful environment that Queenstown has to offer with my husband and son.
